uffie’s back!

i posted my encounter with uffie about a year ago (see here) and it seems like she’s resurfaced..i’m guessing spurred by her so called rival ke$ha. i really don’t think there’s any rivalry though – ke$ha is in a totally different (lamer) scene. so since my post uffie now has a baby, is divorced and is finally releasing her album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans. It will be the fifth album out on the ed banger label and uffie’s first album. what makes this so exciting is that my favorite tweeter(?) Ysa Perez (@ysaaa) is the amazing photographer of her album cover. you can see more of ysa’s work here!

summer is on its way. you look into your closet searching for those denim shorts and realize your ex best friend from last season still has them. then you opt for that great floral summer dress forgetting the huge ketchup stain on the left boob from that august BBQ. you start to panic – now, you have two options 1) cut up all your winter clothes or 2) head to old gold boutique’s sample sale. unless you are the coco chanel of the 21st century i would opt for option #2. studio Le Space will be transformed into a whimsical flea market where the threads will be from 50-80% off.

this is a little video i made from a few clips shot on my Canon 7D from my vacation to hawaii with my mom and brother about a month ago. we went hiking on the volcano; sunbathed on a bunch of secluded beaches; ate delicious food; snorkeled; went on a day dive at eel cove and a night dive with manta rays; and drove around the beautiful landscape. one week on the big island was not enough and i hope to get back there soon.

this is a video i took of drop the lime at his set at belmont in montreal a month ago. i was going out to this ipod battle between montreal’s top nightlife/music blogs and wasn’t expecting to have that much fun. however, i was pleasantly surprised. drop the lime is one of the most original artists i’ve seen in a while. turn up the volume for the first track to peep a preview of his new single “hot as hell” dropping june 23rd. to see pictures of the event (and of how good looking drop the lime is) visit goldzmine.

i just logged into wordpress for the first time in months and was surprised to find find that people still check my blog…and it sort of motivated me to start posting again..i was doing a lot of event videos and interviews for Montreal’s Indecent Xposure Website and that took up a lot of my time. On Friday, January 29th, a one-of-a-kind event is returning to Metropolis! SynesthASIA is an annual fashion show for charity that is completely non-profit and showcases local Montreal designers and talent. The vision of the show is inspired by “synesthesia,” a neurological phenomenon in which the five senses become mixed up, leading to sensations such as seeing sounds or tasting colours. Following this vision, SynesthASIA incorporates a variety of art mediums such as dance and live music. In its debut show in January 2009, over 1200 came out in attendance to support the cause and $9000 was donated to charity. This year, look forward to clothing by: Mighty Healthy, Dinh Ba, Preloved, and many more! The show will also feature internationally known drummer Paul Lizzi. All proceeds from the event will fund the care and education of orphaned, disabled, and special needs children in Sri Lanka. there’s no natural phenomenon as impressive or beautiful (for me) as the sky. sure flowers are cool, mountains are big and the ocean is pretty dope. but there’s just something about the sky that always makes me stop and stare and proclaim its beauty out loud. this is why i love flying and always weasel my way into a window seat.
